Summary
Under the supervision of the Service Manager as a Field Service Technician it will be your responsibility to answer maintenance and service calls as well as provide maintenance and operational training for existing and installed line systems and equipment. Acting as a Field Service Technician, you will be on the front line ensuring client’s satisfaction. You will also work closely with our engineering, sales and marketing teams.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have a technical background and can tackle hands on troubleshooting, presentations and assessments as well as be client centric. He/she must have the ability to work autonomously with remote supervision and be a result oriented individual. To succeed as a Field Service Technician, he or she will have to perform the essential duties listed below satisfactorily.
Aptitudes
Have a valid passport and driver’s license with willingness to travel by plane mostly within the United States but also to international destinations.
Be willing to Travel 50% of the time with 10% of the time outside the United States.
Must be willing to travel on short notice, be on call and may be continuously away from home for up to two weeks at a time.
Must maintain a professional attitude always and be able to act calmly under pressure from clients.
Must be a team player with high energy.
Qualifications
1. One to 5 years experience in troubleshooting electronics, electromechanical, pneumatics or mechanical equipment and working knowledge of PLCs
2. Customer service experience is an asset
3. Must have knowledge of Windows XP, Microsoft office suite particularly Word, Excel and Outlook and a clear understanding of personal computer hardware set up and software configuration.
4. Must have the ability to clearly express presentation for training purposes
5. Must have the ability to clearly formulate clear and concise reports and e-mails suitable for client exposure
6. Previous Food processing equipment experience would be asset
7. Spanish and/or French would be an asset.
Major Expected task
1. Perform service calls at client locations all over the United States, Canada and international location
2. Perform trainings on Deville product lines in a class room environment as well as in a practical environment
3. Handle customer service calls / technical support calls
4. Promote and sell spare parts to clients
5. Assemble pneumatic and mechanical assemblies in production shop
6. Perform mechanical work
7. Crate and pack major shipments
8. Perform minor welding and polishing tasks when required
9. General warehouse duties when required
Education:
Two years associate degree in mechanical, electrical, or mechanical technician program. High School + Trade school in related area of study.
