POSITION DESCRIPTION SCIENION is the global leader in low-volume precision dispensing applications used for miniaturization and multiplexing assays. Founded in 2021, we provide our customers with a consultative approach on how to achieve their objectives by using our in house team of experts, or by purchasing our systems and technologies. Join the team as a Field Service Technician/ Engineer, where you will have the exciting opportunity to work with cutting-edge SCIENION and Cellenion technology for various applications, including microarrays, biosensors, microneedling, and single-cell dispensing, amongst other innovative applications. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES Develop expert-level knowledge of SCIENION’s technology, including instrumentation, software, and basic applications. Perform on-site installations, repairs, preventative maintenance, and upgrades at customer locations throughout North America. Perform Site Acceptance Tests (SAT), Installation Qualification, and Root Cause analysis. Ensure that the repairs and helpdesk ticket data are accurate and up to date on a daily basis. Provide on-site and remote troubleshooting and technical guidance for customer service issues and inquiries. Within one year, grow into a knowledgeable resource for providing effective basic training to customers on the sciFLEXARRAYERS. Complete all reports and customer information effectively and consistently as deemed necessary by SCIENION. Document customer issues, investigate underlying causes, and work with colleagues to resolve and escalate customer issues or complaints. Maintain a minimal spare parts inventory according to company guidelines and return specific spare parts as designated by policy. Complete and submit a monthly expense report according to company policies. Interacts and manages any customer activity professionally, pleasantly, and calmly. Maintains company-issued tools, company property, and spare parts. Reporting sustaining issues to Product Management and R&D Travel within the territory as needed. Travel is approximately 50% required. Other related tasks as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS Experience with automated liquid handling systems, multiplex assays, and basic electromechanical, electronic, and optical systems. Experienced in utilizing various hand tools, such as a multimeter/ oscilloscope, wrenches, screwdrivers, and soldering iron, and the ability to use them to solve problems correctly. Willingness to learn, grow, and the drive to perform quality work. Requires tactful, empathetic, and responsive communication with customers. Strong leadership and team-building skills with the ability to work independently and as a multi-functional team member. Effective written and verbal communication skills, PC skills (Windows/Labview), and organizational abilities. Capable of interacting with a diverse population of internal and external contacts. Ability to firmly adhere to and support safety, environmental, and quality policies, protocols, and procedures. Professionally represents SCIENION. Education/Certification: A bachelor's level or equivalent university education in electronics, engineering, and biosciences or a biomedical certificate is preferred, but experienced applicants may apply. Experience Preferred: 3+ years of the previous field or in-house service experience required. Skills & Abilities: Effective communication, ability to work as part of a team and individually, proven problem-solving ability, good documentation skills, and good lab practices. PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES AND REQUIREMENTS OF THIS POSITION Talking: Individuals must be able to communicate with company personnel and customers. Average Hearing: Individuals must be able to communicate with company personnel and customers. Repetitive Motions: Individuals may be requested to spend periods of time on a PC. Average Visual Abilities: Individuals must be able to see equipment status, computer screens, and environment to aid all activities. Physical Strength: Individuals must be able to lift up to 50 pounds (with or without assistance). WORKING ENVIRONMENT This position will be based at our SCIENION US, Inc. headquarters in Tempe, AZ. In addition to travel to customer sites, some domestic and international travel to our corporate headquarters may be required. Laboratory/ Cleanroom Environment: Some functions of this role will be performed in a lab environment where various large and small equipment are used in the production of microarrays. Professional Office Environment: This role uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers/printers, etc. Must be a U.S. Citizen Salary will be commensurate with experience and education.
