Our Field Project Manager ( Construction Superintendent ) is an ideal position for individuals interested in on-the-job training to learn more about interior construction management trades for some of the most well-respected brands in America. The position is a year-round, full-time position and applicant must be willing to travel up to 60-70% of the time annually.
What You’ll Be Doing
You will receive on-the-job training to learn about project management, including but not limited to: estimating costs, monitoring aligned budget categories, working with design teams, maintaining scheduling, and ensuring a seamless process of projects from start to finish, in addition to hands-on project completion needs. You will interface with clients, design teams, and construction crews to coordinate and participate in commercial construction projects throughout the United States. This position requires you to be hands-on at times, when in the field, working directly in each project, and directly managing all trade subcontractors.
Specific Responsibilities Include
Ensure projects both start and deliver on time, scope of work is executed accurately and within budget.
In-field oversight of all phases of a construction project on site through completion.
Schedule and coordinate subcontractors, consultants, and vendors to ensure timely completion.
Forecast and monitor schedules for various projects being performed to ensure benchmarks and deadlines are being met.
Work with all trade personnel and sub-contractors in-field to streamline project and ensure all parties are on task to meet customer project goals and DWM profitability target.
Provide direction subcontractors to ensure all standards of quality and safety are maintained at all times.
Perform quality control duties and responsibilities regarding the work being performed.
Arrange for material and equipment to be on-site as needed.
Coordinate execution site inspections with local municipalities, procurement of construction plans through local sub-contractors and/or vendors. May require on-site orchestration, dependent on project variables.
Resolve any possible on-site issues and emergencies, escalating to the Division Manager and Director, as needed.
Partner with client’s and our project management team to communicate project progress, ensure deliverables, timesheets, and invoices are approved and sent in daily
Practice accurate forecasting of project cost and timeline to ensure project bids are achieving expected profit margins
Identify conflicts in construction progress and communicate them to project team for resolution
Read and comprehend blueprints, purchase orders, and change orders
Maintain clear lines of communication to supervisors, peers and clients by providing regular project updates, manpower forecasts, documenting progress, and reporting on all activities, including immediate reporting of urgent issues.
Ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures.
Requirements
High School Diploma or GED
Valid Driver's License
2-3 year of experience in the construction field
Ability to travel up to 60-70% annually.
Desire to travel nationwide
Must be able to work schedules that include: day, evening, overnights, and weekends
A proven problem solver and team player
Preferred Skills
Associate degree in related field
General knowledge of building code and ability to read blueprints
Working knowledge of project management software and use of Gantt Charts
Basic computer/typing skills and knowledge of MS Suites software such as Word, Excel and Outlook Office/Email
OSHA Certification preferred
3 years of experience in the construction field
Thrives in team environment, simultaneously self-sufficient
