GFT is seeking a Project Management/Operations Specialist to join our Traffic Operations Center Team in Albany, NY! This role requires daily attendance at our NYSDOT Albany Office and may include occasional travel for site visits or project meetings. What you'll be challenged to do:As a highly organized and detail-oriented Project Management/Operations Specialist you will support transportation infrastructure and operations projects. This role will be primarily responsible for assisting project managers with planning, scheduling, documentation, and coordination tasks using Microsoft Project and Microsoft Office tools in an office setting. In this capacity, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following:
* Provide administrative and technical support to project managers in coordinating various project phases.
* Create, maintain, and update project schedules using Microsoft Project to track tasks, milestones, deadlines, and resource allocations.
* Prepare reports, meeting minutes, presentations, and other project documentation using Microsoft Word, Excel, Power BI and PowerPoint.
* Monitor project timelines and deliverables, alerting managers to potential delays or issues.
* Help manage and organize physical and electronic files to ensure proper documentation control.
* Tracking progress of various action items.
* Coordinate logistics for onsite and virtual meetings and project-related events.
* Perform data entry and quality control tasks to ensure accuracy and consistency in project records.
* Adhere to NYSDOT procedures, protocols, and confidentiality requirements.
What you will bring to our firm:
* Associate's degree or higher in Business Administration, Project Management, Engineering Technology, or a related field.
* 5+ years of demonstrated, progressive administrative skills and responsibilities commensurate with the roles and responsibilities of this position may be substituted for the education requirement.
* 2+ years of experience in a project coordination, administrative, or assistant role, preferably in an engineering or transportation environment.
* Proficient in Microsoft Project and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
* Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Excellent organization skills.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, professional environment.
What we prefer you bring:
* Experience supporting public sector or DOT projects/programs
* Familiarity with project management methodologies such as PMI or Agile.
* Knowledge of transportation infrastructure terminology and project phases.
Compensation:The salary range for this role is $64,500 - $68,600 annually. Salary is dependent upon experience and geographic location. Signing Bonus:After successfully completing 90 days of full-time employment you will be eligible for a spot bonus of $1,000.
