Nightwing is seeking an experienced field network engineer to install, configure, and troubleshoot data networks. Tasks include configuring and installing routers, switches, next generation firewalls (NGFW), security appliances, cabling, and other network devices at CONUS and OCONUS locations. The engineer will collaborate with team members to develop and deploy distributed network architectures, create network diagrams and rack elevations, recommend hardware and software solutions, and implement network monitoring. The engineer will assist the design and deployment of new distributed networks and modernization of existing networks. The engineer must be skilled in configuring and deploying Cisco networking equipment.

The engineer will be expected to work alone or with small teams, interacting directly with installers and end users in a fast-paced dynamic environment. Flexibility is essential and the engineer must be willing to work on a wide variety of IT tasks, either leveraging experience or learning new technologies quickly. The engineer will develop and occasionally present well-written reports.

For the right candidate, this position would also include a team leadership component. As a team lead, the engineer will work hands on with a team of up to a dozen employees and subcontractors providing direct field engineering support to the customer. The team lead would be responsible for coordinating customer requirements, managing assignments among team members, interfacing directly with customer and program leadership.

Required Skills

• TS/SCI with polygraph
• Experience installing, configuring and troubleshooting Cisco data networks and devices.
• Efficient at using Cisco Networking Software and firmware (e.g. Cisco IOS, Cisco IOS XE, Cisco IOS XR, and Cisco NX-OS, FTD, ASA, FMC)
• Proficient in Microsoft Word.
• Experience using diagram drawing applications (such as Microsoft Visio)
• Willingness to travel to CONUS and OCONUS locations 10% of the year.
• Leadership experience in managing projects and/ or personnel

• Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP)
• Experience with Cisco Digital Network Architecture (DNA) or Cisco Identity
• Services Engine (ISE) installation, configuration, maintenance, and administration

• BS in Computer Science, Information Systems, or similar field of study
