Location: US:CO:BOULDER Department: Superintendent's Office Position Title: Executive Director-Accountability and Evaluation Position Start Date: July 1, 2025 Position Type: Central Administration FTE: 1.0 - 40 hours per week - Regular, ongoing Work Schedule: 261 Days - 12 Months - July Salary Range 16: $128,394.00 - $192,589.00 Closing Date: May 18, 2025 Our People Are Our Strength in BVSD Summary: The Executive Director of Accountability and Evaluation provides strategic leadership for all district functions related to assessment, evaluation, accreditation, and student data reporting. This role ensures compliance with state and district requirements, oversees the administration and analysis of assessments, and supports schools in using data to drive continuous improvement and monitor progress toward achievement and growth goals. The Executive Director also leads program evaluation efforts, manages departmental staff and budget, reviews research proposals, and collaborates as a key leader with the District Accountability Committee and other stakeholders to advance BVSD's strategic priorities. Responsibilities: * Coordinate, develop, and evaluate the district's comprehensive student assessment program, ensuring compliance with state and district requirements. Collaborate with content area specialists, school staff, and educators to design and implement assessments that foster high-quality instruction and enhance student learning. * Analyze district, school, teacher, and student performance data to improve system performance and inform strategic priorities. Interpret assessment results for schools, administrators, the Board of Education, and the public. Investigate data management systems to meet district staff needs and improve student outcomes. Collaborate on implementing all district management and student data reporting systems. * Oversee and monitor State accountability processes, including student data reporting, providing technical assistance with school and district performance frameworks, and developing district and school improvement plans. Design and provide professional development for school-based educators related to educational accountability. * Create and provide professional development for teachers and administrators to enhance their teaching practices in the areas of assessment construction, administration, and data analysis. Foster a collaborative culture emphasizing continuous improvement of the quality of education in every classroom. * Coordinate the administration, reporting, and analysis of student, parent, and staff surveys in support of the district's strategic priorities and Board of Education policies. * Design and coordinate the implementation of program evaluations aligned to the district's strategic initiatives. Create program evaluation analyses and reports to communicate findings and recommendations. * Review and approve all internal and external research proposals in accordance with district policy. * Provide leadership and oversight of the department budget and personnel, including the management, hiring, mentoring, evaluation, and professional development of team members. * Coordinate the preparation of Board of Education monitoring reports pertaining to student data reports and Learning Services for the superintendent, deputy superintendent, and chief academic officer's review. * Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications: Required: * Master's Degree in a major pertinent to the position requirements: Research, Evaluation, Statistics, or related field. * Minimum of five years of experience in a leadership role related to testing, assessment, or educational research. * Completed and submitted BVSD online application. Preferred: * School leadership experience Salary Information: Salary Range 16:$128,394.00 - $192,589.00 Salary Placement varies according to experience and education. * Pay range listed above is for employees newly hired to BVSD or current BVSD employees that are new to the employee group (existing employees currently in this unit please refer to the pay range on the appropriate salary schedule). BVSD engages in a salary placement process vs. a salary negotiation process.
