Fight For Children is seeking a creative and detail-oriented individual to lead the planning and execution of high-impact events. This role requires excellent organizational skills, creativity, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. The Events Manager will work closely with leadership, internal teams, vendors, sponsors, and stakeholders to deliver seamless, engaging, and successful events.
Key Responsibilities
Event Planning & Strategy: Develop comprehensive event strategies, concepts, themes, and objectives that align with organizational goals and create memorable guest experiences.
Budget & Financial Oversight: Create and manage event budgets, ensuring cost-effectiveness while maintaining high-quality standards.
Marketing & Promotion: Collaborate with marketing team to develop promotional campaigns, invitations, and event branding.
Silent Auction Management: Oversee the procurement, onsite presentation, and bidder management system to ensure maximum guest experience.
Registration & Guest Experience: Oversee attendee registration, ticketing, and on-site experiences to ensure smooth operations.
On-site Event Execution: Supervise all aspects of the events including setup, vendor coordination, staff and volunteer management, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring a seamless experience.
Post-Event Evaluation: Analyze event success, gather feedback, and prepare reports for continuous improvement.
Qualifications & Skills
Bachelor’s degree preferred, plus a minimum of 3 years of experience in event planning and execution.
Strong project management and organizational skills with the ability to multitask.
Experience with fundraising events and/or silent auctions.
Comfortable with digital tools, especially auction software and spreadsheets.
Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
Creative thinker with an eye for presentation and engagement.
Excellent negotiation and vendor management abilities.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
Experience managing large-scale corporate or nonprofit events.
Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed.
The ideal candidate will be based in the Washington, DC area and have pre-existing relationships with vendors and funders in the DC metropolitan area.
