Job Description: Event Coordinator
Location: Detroit, MI
Position Type: Part-Time (15 hours/week)
Compensation: $25/hour

Work Schedule: Hybrid – 2 mandatory in-office days per week (Monday & Thursdays),
with flexible remote hours for the remaining time.
Growth Opportunity: Expand to full time after 1 year based on performance.
About Us
Boredomfighters is on a mission to empower young people through hands-on music production experiences. As we grow our impact across schools, camps, festivals, and creative spaces, we’re seeking a detail-oriented, calendar-savvy Event Coordinator to lead the charge on all logistics behind our workshops, retreats, assemblies, and pop-ups.
This is a highly collaborative, cross-functional role for someone who thrives on juggling timelines, communicating with diverse teams, and ensuring every event runs like clockwork. You’ll act as the organizational glue between departments—managing dates, drafting detailed advances, and dispatching crews to deliver unforgettable musical experiences.
Weekly Schedule (15 Hours/Week)
With flexibility for occasional adjustments based on school or event bookings.
- Monday – In-Office (10AM–3PM) – 5 Hours
- Tuesday – Remote – 3 Hours
- Thursday – In-Office (10AM–2PM) – 4 Hours
- Friday – Remote – 3 Hours

Key Responsibilities
- Advance Event Logistics: Draft and manage detailed advance sheets for each engagement (school visits, retreats, pop-ups, etc.), outlining who, what, where, when, and how.
- Calendar & Scheduling Management: Maintain the master calendar of all events and ensure all relevant team members are updated and prepared.
- Team & Gear Dispatch: Coordinate transportation and logistics for staff, volunteers, and equipment across multiple event types.
- Budget Oversight: Assist with event budgeting, track expenses, and help ensure projects stay on track financially.
- Communication Hub: Act as the central connector between departments and partners, sending timely updates and making sure everyone has what they need to succeed.
- Systems & Templates: Maintain and improve internal workflows for advancing, scheduling, and coordination across programs.
Required Skills:
- 5+ years of experience in event coordination or production logistics
- Is a proactive communicator with a love for details and schedules
- Knows how to keep a team aligned across multiple moving parts
- Has experience creating advance sheets and working across departments
- Familarity with Airtable, Google Suite, Slack, and Asana
- Bonus: You’ve worked with music events, youth programming, or grassroots orgs
