About the Role

As an Estimator-Project Manager you will provide estimates for goods and services to General Contractors to secure commercial contracts in the following areas: Insulation, Joint Sealants, Caulking, Fireproofing, Firestopping and Waterproofing. 


Responsibilities

  • Exhibit a strong capability to create, formulate, and complete project estimates from the invitation to bid to the final outcome, utilizing various estimating methods.
  • Analyze plans and specifications meticulously to determine and provide proposals for goods and services. Recognize the limitations and benefits of various building materials and techniques, along with their effects on project costs and timelines. May need to visit sites, facilities and other venues necessary to complete an estimate as needed.
  • Understand and utilize various construction programs including but not limited to OST and Bluebeam.
  • Assess and estimate additional project elements such as Requests for Information (RFIs), change orders, and time and material adjustments.
  • Review, track, and distribute all submittals in a timely manner.
  • Interpret and comprehend technical language in contracts between General Contractors and the company, ensuring that contract goals are achieved, and fulfils the company’s contractual commitments – bringing to attention parts of the contract that do not support initial estimations as needed.
  • Coordinate with Purchaser on materials needed for projects with advanced notice as well as providing quoted materials for projects to ensure pricing is communicated.
  • Understand profit margins and interpret successes/improvement possibilities when analyzing projects based on initial projection and final results.
  • Investigate, identify, and suggest solutions to obstacles in production.
  • Oversee project close out by: finalizing all construction-related documents (including change orders, purchase orders, RFIs, and reviewing and providing Operation and Maintenance manuals for products delivered.


Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • 2 years of experience in commercial construction
  • Firsthand knowledge of working commercial construction processes and procedures
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Applications (Outlook, Excel, Word), Bluebeam, OST, Procore and like management systems
  • Ability to learn new record keeping systems
  • Understanding and ability to analyze architectural plans and develop cost estimates
  • Skilled in time management and multitasking while ensuring attention to detail
  • Ability to adapt and remain flexible in response to the changing dynamics in the construction industry
