The Role
We are currently seeking an
Estimator to join our Sustaining Capital Projects Team. The successful candidate is offered a full time position based at our West Perth office with travel to site also required.
This role will be responsible for overseeing and delivering tender packages as well as providing support to the tendering and project execution teams. You will have first principals experience with the ability to deliver accurate estimates to the team and as a team player you will have the ability to develop and maintain strong working relationships.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop SMP capital cost estimates specific to each discipline
- Complete detailed methodologies and tender submission schedules
- Maintain, track and report tender progress, performance, pricing and documentation
- Liaise with subcontractors and suppliers around pricing
- Review drawings and work scopes to ensure reflection in pricing and project execution
- Perform material take-offs and compile detailed cost documentation
- Review and advise on commercial, contracts and scope departures
- Develop relationships with clients, suppliers, subcontractors and wider business team
- Ensure compliance with client QAQC, company policies, plans and procedures
- Prepare schedules with ability to prepare budgets to deadlines
- Assist in client meetings or undertake site visits where required to review works
About You
- Eligible to work in Australia
- Construction white card
- Tertiary qualification in Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent experience
- Minimum 5 years’ experience with Structural, Mechanical and Piping works as an Estimator or similar (mining industry desirable)
- Proficient in the full MS Office Suite and MS Projects
- Experience with SMP tender development and material take-off’s
- Ability to see tendering process through to project execution (advantageous)
- High level of technical aptitude, problem-solving skills with an attention to detail
- Ability to working independently and within a team
- Strong communication skills, positive attitude and commitment to doing your best
- Possess sound business acumen and ability to adapt to different environments
