Job Description: As an Environmental Project Specialist, you will play a key role in supporting our environmental projects in Southern California. Your responsibilities will include assisting project managers to meet technical, quality, budgetary, and scheduling requirements, coordinating tasks effectively, and managing work assignments. You will also coach and mentor junior-level field staff, learn and implement quality control, planning, cost estimating, and scheduling, direct environmental field observation and testing programs, and support project managers with various remediation projects. Key Responsibilities: * Project Support: Assist project managers to meet technical, quality, budgetary, and scheduling requirements. * Task Coordination: Coordinate tasks effectively and manage work assignments. * Mentorship: Coach and mentor junior-level field staff. * Quality Control: Learn and implement quality control, planning, cost estimating, and scheduling. * Field Observation: Direct environmental field observation and testing programs. * Remediation Support: Support project managers with various remediation projects. Essential Skills: * Technical Expertise: Environmental engineering, environmental consulting, understanding of environmental regulations, experience in environmental investigations and site characterization, proficiency in remediation technologies. * Project Management: Strong project management skills and professional report writing. * Education: Bachelor of Science in Civil/Environmental Engineering. * Experience: 6+ years of relevant consulting experience in Southern California. * Certification: California professional registration (PE/PG) or ability to obtain within 6 months. Additional Skills & Qualifications: * Advanced Education: Master's Degree in a related field is preferred. * Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills. * Compliance: Experience with environmental compliance and construction management. * Technical Knowledge: Knowledge of geology and site assessment. * Certification: HAZWOPER certification. Work Environment: Candidates are preferred to be based in Costa Mesa as projects are located in Orange County and Los Angeles. The team size varies across projects, typically consisting of 3 or more people. Flexible working hours are offered, with core hours between 10 AM - 3 PM, and the option to work three days a week on-site, preferably Tuesday through Thursday. Travel requirements depend on experience, with those closer to five years spending about 60% of their time in the office and 40% in the field, while junior staff may spend more time in the field.
