Entry Level AutoCAD Drafter and Coordinator for Specialty Fabricator (Part-Time, In-Person)
Join a small team of passionate professionals focused on preserving the historic fabric of NYC row houses and townhomes through accurate drawings and in-house fabrication of custom wood doors.
This is an opportunity for a recent graduate proficient in AutoCAD to step into the fabrication side of the A&D industry and apply your technical and drafting skills in a production environment, where you'll see the product take shape before your eyes.
You’ll be working under the direction of our senior designer and one of the company’s co-owners, gaining exposure to both the creative and operational sides of the business.
You’ll work closely with the fabrication team daily and gain a deep understanding of how custom doors are made.
Qualifications
This role is for someone resourceful, proactive, and who thrives on getting things done.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD drafting is required
- Is highly organized and has strong time and workflow management skills.
- Has solid knowledge of drafting conventions and drawing standards.
- Proficient in 3D Software, such as Rhino or SketchUp.
- Working knowledge of Adobe Illustrator and InDesign.
- Communicates clearly and collaborates well with customers and the fabrication team.
- Has a genuine interest in historic buildings, craftsmanship, and New York City architecture
How You Will Contribute
- Produce and maintain accurate shop drawings, LPC drawings, fabrication drawings, and installation documents in AutoCAD.
- Conduct site visits to collect and verify field measurements.
- Coordinate, review, and track door hardware orders, confirm selections with clients, and inspect incoming hardware.
- Create 3D models in Rhino or SketchUp for design coordination and internal use.
- Assist with occasional visual presentations using Adobe Illustrator and InDesign.
- Communicate with internal team members to ensure drawings align with fabrication and installation needs.
- Track revisions and maintain drawing documentation throughout each project.
- Organize and manage drawing workflow from project initiation through installation.

Position Details
Location: Brooklyn, NY
Schedule: This is a part-time, in-person position (20–24 hours/week)
Schedule Options (In-Person Required)
Monday through Thursday, 9 a.m. – 2 p.m.
OR Monday through Wednesday, 9 a.m. – 4 or 5 p.m.
The pay rate is to be determined based on the applicable skill set.
We offer accrual of PTO days, accrual sick days, and paid transit benefits.
Annual paid holiday shutdown from Christmas to New Year’s Day.
