Job Title: Engineering Technician Job Description The Engineering Technician will be responsible for operating test benches in the R&D engineering lab. The role involves conducting a variety of tests, troubleshooting test apparatus, connecting products to benches, replacing pumps and seals, and starting tests. Documenting test results, overseeing mechanical upkeep and calibration, and participating in the development of new technology and products are key aspects of the position. Responsibilities * Conduct specialized testing, including structural, integrity, end-of-life, and efficiency tests. * Operate and maintain test equipment to ensure accuracy and efficiency. * Fabricate components and assemblies for hydraulic, diesel engine, and alternative power products. * Build prototypes and retrofit vehicles with company products and data acquisition systems. * Troubleshoot test bench circuits and field equipment systems. * Adapt procedures, processes, and equipment to meet complex test requirements. * Oversee equipment calibration and advanced test bench maintenance. * Maintain a clean and safe work environment. * Effectively communicate technical information. Essential Skills * High School Diploma or GED. * 10+ years of relevant experience as a technician or mechanic. * Demonstrated mechanical and technical aptitude. * Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings. * Experience in fabrication across multiple disciplines. Additional Skills & Qualifications * Associate's degree. * Advanced knowledge of test equipment and test standards. * Technical experience in fluid handling, filtration, or diesel engines. * Advanced computer literacy skills. * Understanding of data logging equipment, dosing systems, and injector characterization stations. * Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data collection. * Organizational skills and ability to multi-task. * Self-starter with creative and inquisitive nature. * Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Work Environment This position is based in the Liquid Multipass Lab, focusing on the durability and efficiency of filters for liquid applications, such as diesel fuel. The role requires mechanical testing and upkeep of test benches, primarily on the multipass bench. Initially, training will be conducted on the 1st shift, with potential long-term placement on the 2nd shift. The 1st shift operates from Monday to Friday, 6:30 AM to 3 PM, while the 2nd shift operates Monday to Thursday, 2 PM to 10:30 PM, and Friday, 10 AM to 6:30 PM. The dress code is engineering casual, including collared shirts, with safety shoes and glasses required in labs. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $28.00/hr.
