Description We are looking for an Engineering Technician to support the testing of a variety of electrically abusive scenarios for power electronics and battery systems across both vehicle and energy products. Our team works with Engineering groups across various disciplines requiring effective communication skills and collaboration. You would be tasked with building test stands, setting up test articles mechanically and electrically to be operated outside of the full product, and running tests. Skills battery pack, charging equipment, high voltage, test Top Skills Details battery pack,charging equipment,high voltage,test Additional Skills & Qualifications * High Voltage battery (48VDC+) or Battery Device hands on experience o Opening battery packs o Measuring their voltage o Dissecting or Building them o Single cell (4.2VDC) testing would be acceptable experience, if it is paired with some type of other higher electrical experience • Power Electronics o Testing related to development of these products of interest: On - Board EV Chargers DC Fast Chargers Wireless chargers Battery management electronic boards Energy Product / "Stationary" / "Grid-tied" / "Battery Energy Storage Systems - BESS" or just Energy Storage Systems (usually combustion powered generators "AC-DC" or "DC-DC" power supplies / inverters / converters Solar related electronics (have to verify >48Vdc) • High Voltage / High power o Any voltage above 48Vdc or 208VAC (Single phase or 3 phase) the higher the better o Hands on experience troubleshooting systems with "live" voltage measurements E.G. Aware of the PPE Preventive protective equiment such as High voltage gloves/ face shields Making live connections to batteries for testing o Testing "High Current" through device, aka "Ride-through" or "Pulse" testing Common device names: • Contactors • Relays • Fuses • Switches • Busbars • HV Distribution • Cables • Connectors o Operating Power supplies • Instrumentation o Installing instrumentation such as TC's (Thermocouples), and the Data Acquisition (DAQ) hardware to record/log them Pressure sensors Voltage sensors Current sensors o DAQ's Oscilloscopes (lots of brands, but most operate the same) Keysight loggers National Instruments NI Picoscope (a low cost oscilloscopes) Experience Level Expert Level Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $45.00/hr.
