ABOUT THE ROLE
AAC is looking for an experienced and energetic program manager to join its talented and growing team. This person will build strong customer relationships through dedicated customer service and product development. They will become the voice of our customers and work closely with our engineering and management teams in China to bring new products from design concepts to mass production.
This is a full-time hybrid role for an Engineering Program Manager at AAC Technologies, based in Cupertino, CA. The Engineering Program Manager will be responsible for overseeing program management, engineering management, project management, hardware development, and systems engineering tasks. Some remote work is acceptable in this role.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Serve as a cross-functional team leader and lead global cross-functional teams to drive program success.
- Oversee and track multiple customer build schedules and communicate with the factory to ensure all project deliverables and milestones meet targets.
- Drive the product development life cycle from concept to launch
- Identify and resolve conflicts, interdependencies, and program issues and risks.
- Ability to quickly identify and mitigate program risks.
- Coordinate resources as required to complete engineering builds.
- Be the main point of contact for commercial topics (such as quotes, purchase orders, invoices, etc.).
- Work closely with customers’ global supply team for price and delivery considerations.
- Work closely with the engineering, manufacturing/production, and commercial teams to ensure smooth product launches.
- Drive CTB, ramp plans, ramp readiness reviews, etc. to meet customer expectations.
- Coordinate and support customer visits to the AAC factory and ensure all discussion topics are covered efficiently and effectively.
- Be available as needed to assist customers and colleagues even outside of regular business hours.
- Take ownership to see project success, even without direct or ultimate authority.
- Up to 25% international travel (primarily to China), approximately 2-6 times annually.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 3 years of experience in program or project management.
- Experience with supply chain operations or materials management.
- Experience in leading cross-functional teams
- Program Management, Engineering Management, and Project Management skills.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Preferred qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience, Master's degree is a plus
- 5 years of experience in program or project management.
- 5 years of experience managing cross-functional or cross-team projects.
- Knowledge of hardware design and manufacturing processes.
- Direct Experience with NPI cycles in consumer electronics industry.
Skills
- Experience across all phases of a product from prototype to mass production to end of life.
- Ability to understand complex mechanical assemblies.
- Detailed knowledge and understanding of product development processes
- Experience in leadership and managing teams, as well as leading cross-functional process improvements, and ability to inspire team members and build collaborative work environments
- Demonstrated creative and critical thinking capabilities and ability to collaborate and influence across multiple levels of an organization, with excellent analytical and communication/facilitation skills.
- Negotiation and risk management skills
- Comfortable in communicating with all levels of employees and management.
- Very well organized and detailed oriented
- Fluent in English speaking and writing.
- Fluent in Mandarin speaking and writing
