Summary
The Broken Arrow Engineering department is responsible for providing the detail engineering and design required to fabricate Gas Processing and Treating facilities and equipment. The Engineering department is made up of all disciplines required for this effort. Typical equipment designs include mechanical refrigeration units, fractionation trains, cryogenic plants, amine systems, molecular sieve, and other systems found in the midstream market.
This position is within the Broken Arrow Engineering department, which is responsible for providing the detail engineering and design required to fabricate Gas Processing and Treating facilities and equipment. The Execution Engineering department consists of all disciplines required for this effort.
The Broken Arrow Engineering team includes highly skilled, motivated engineers that are adept at problem solving and offers exposure to the latest technology in the oil, gas and petrochemical markets. These groups are critical to the overall success of the company in many ways.
This position is for an individual new to the workforce. It will provide an opportunity to work with and learn from very experienced process engineers. A chemical engineering degree is preferred, but other BS engineering degrees will be considered.
Principle Responsibilities and Duties
In general, the engineer will be responsible for the following:
- Learning all aspects related to Engineering and Design of Gas Processing and Treating equipment through formal and informal training.
- Assist and become proficient in evaluating the design and performance of cryogenic gas processing and amine treating equipment.
- Become very familiar with Enerflex standard equipment designs
- Assist or lead technical reviews of proposed customer solutions for accuracy and compliance with Enerflex P&T standards and best practices.
- Collaborate with team members on complex and creative solutions
- Maintain knowledge of codes and standards applicable to the products in the global market.
- Completing assigned deliverables in a timely manner.
- Following up on technical issues and concerns with the appropriate disciplines.
- Interacting with the team members from other engineering groups on proposals and projects, as necessary
- Attending weekly department and project meetings
- Gaining familiarity with Enerflex processes and procedures. Updating work instructions and procedures as required.
- Duties must be performed consistently with the company mission and values and adhere to company policies and procedures.
- Quality: Ensure alignment of Enerflex, customer and vendor quality control and quality assurance in bids.
- Abide by and promote Enerflex’s HSE policy.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering preferred.
- Ability to develop process simulations using HYSYS, ProMax, or similar software.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office products.
- Fluency in English.
- Knowledge of product mechanical design, thermodynamics, chemical processing, and instrumentation & controls.
- Time management skills including multi-tasking competing priorities as needed.
- Ability to generate alternative solutions.
- Being customer-centered and able to maintain satisfied customer and vendor relationships.
- Desire and ability to resolve technical problems with a desire and ability to continue learning
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Must be self-motivated and team oriented, capable of learning, managing time, priorities, and operating well under pressure with little supervision.
Physical Requirements
Fast-paced general office environment. Many tasks have high degrees of time sensitivity. Domestic and international travel is possible on occasion.
