Summary

We are heading to pre-seed round after 5-6 months. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who has entrepreneurial mindest.


You must have the right to work in EU.

Minimum 25-30 hours/week commitment till pre-seed round and full-time after.

Greek speakers will be preferred.


📍Location: Greece (Remote)

📈Private Equity: Competitive equity will be given from Day 1, starting 4-year vesting period with a 1-year cliff

💰Stipend: 8,000€ for the next 5-6 months

💰Monthly salary after pre-seed round: 4,000€

💰Monthly salary after seed round: 5,000€ (with 10% yearly increments)

🎓Education: PhD is preferred


Responsibilities


  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define system requirements and deployment scenarios
  • Select components: MCUs (STM32, ESP32, Nordic), sensors, PMICs, LoRa modules, passives
  • Design schematics and create 2–4 layer PCB layouts with proper RF, power, and signal routing
  • Develop low-power systems (deep sleep, wake-up sources, power optimization)
  • Manage component sourcing, PCB fabrication, and hardware bring-up
  • Write board bring-up code, startup sequences, and MCU initialization
  • Implement low-level drivers (I2C, SPI, UART, ADC, PWM, GPIO) and signal processing logic
  • Optimize LoRa communication stack for reliability and energy efficiency
  • Develop power-aware firmware (sleep modes, wake interrupts, peripheral shutdown)
  • Integrate RTOS (FreeRTOS, Zephyr) or write robust bare-metal code for time-critical tasks
  • Perform functional and environmental testing (temperature, humidity, etc.)
  • Contribute to mechanical design and rapid prototyping (including Arduino-based PoCs)


Must-Have Skills


  • 7+ years in embedded systems & hardware design (or exceptional projects if less)
  • Master’s in Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Embedded Systems, IoT, or similar
  • Proven experience building battery-powered IoT products
  • Expertise with STM32, ESP32, or Nordic (ARM Cortex-M series)
  • PCB design proficiency (Altium Designer or KiCad, 2–4 layers)
  • Strong grasp of low-power design, PMIC integration, and power budgeting
  • Hands-on experience with LoRa / LoRaWAN and antenna layout best practices
  • Embedded C/C++ (peripheral driver development), Python, RTOS familiarity
  • Experience with FreeRTOS/Zephyr or writing scalable bare-metal firmware
  • Skilled in hardware debugging (oscilloscope, logic analyzer, JTAG/SWD)
  • Knowledge of EMC/ESD design and pre-compliance testing
  • Experience managing full prototyping cycles, including Arduino or similar platforms


Nice to Have Skills


  • Experience with data serialization techniques (JSON, Protobuf)
  • Expertise in implementing secure communication protocols (TLS, encryption) in IoT systems
  • Strong experience with IoT networking protocols  such as MQTT, CoAP, LPWAN, 5G etc.
  • Phd in Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Embedded Systems, IoT, or similar
  • Fluency in Greek language
