About The Position
The Docket Specialist will provide support to the Litigation, Labor and Bankruptcy practice firm wide. This position reports directly to the firm's Senior Manager, Docketing. This is a position with firm wide responsibility thus occasional travel to other offices may be required.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Provide first-level support for the Firm’s automated docket and calendar system, including routine data entry and daily maintenance
- Accurately input and verify information keyed into docketing system based upon all incoming communications and requests, including identifying information and deadline dates
- Determine docket dates from court documents and correspondence and enter data into the docket/calendar system
- Respond to inquiries from attorneys and staff regarding litigation deadlines, court scheduling rules and related docket and calendar issues
- Provide troubleshooting and support to legal staff regarding the docket/calendar process and policies
- Review outstanding open dates in electronic docket system and follow up on or advance dates in accordance with existing country law and practice procedures
- Maintain working knowledge of local, state, and federal court rules, including but not limited to print and e-filing services
- Provide periodic and on-demand dockets, status and maintenance reports
- Ability to perform due diligence and research; familiarity with law library, Westlaw (Reuters)
- Setup user profiles in CompuLaw
- Research all local, state, federal and administrative rules, as requested
- Any other projects and duties as assigned by direct supervisor
Education And/or Experience
Bachelor's Degree required. 5 or more years of docketing experience preferred. Prior legal industry experience is preferred.

- Must demonstrate good judgement and ability to maintain confidential information.

- Ability to work under pressure, respond quickly to changing demands and be self-motivated with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Must be very organized and detail oriented, and able to prioritize and juggle multiple tasks in a high-pressure environment.
- Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to effectively interact and communicate professionally with all levels of firm personnel.
- Must have a thorough knowledge of local, state and federal rules and codes of civil procedure, as well as litigation terminology.
- Must possess a high degree of professionalism.
- Experience using CompuLaw Vision calendaring software preferred.

Compensation
Allen Matkins is an Equal Opportunity Employer and offers a competitive compensation & benefits package. The anticipated base salary range for this full-time role is $70,000 - $95,000 per year. Actual salary will depend upon a number of factors, including, but not limited to, relevant experience, job-related skills, qualifications, and location.
The base salary range displayed on the job posting reflects the estimated range for new hire salaries for the position. The actual offered base salary will be determined by work location and additional factors, including, but not limited to, relevant experience, job-related skills and qualifications. The pay range is subject to change at any time dependent on a variety of internal and external business factors.
