About the Role - Reporting to the COO, the Director of Investment Operations is responsible for overseeing the administration and operations of all investment products including mutual funds, ETF’s, separately managed accounts, and model delivery clients. This person works closely with key stakeholders across the organization including the Compliance, Marketing & Sales, Investment, Technology and Corporate Accounting Teams as well as 3rd party vendor partners. Additionally, this role takes the lead in coordination of the annual audits, monthly & quarterly reporting, as well as special projects.


Responsibilities


  • Manage the processes and people involved with the administration and operations of the investment products including but not limited to internal and external data reporting, shadow accounting, fund expenses, dividend and performance calculations, SEC reporting, transfer agency, and trade settlement operations.
  • Act as the main liaison of the annual independent mutual fund audit as well as support the annual firm audit, quarterly SOX testing and internal Compliance audits.
  • Effectively manage relationships with external administrators, custodian banks, system providers and related 3rd parties.
  • Participate in the preparation of annual, semiannual, and quarterly investor communications.
  • Oversee month end reporting and ensure completion in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Support the development and documentation of departmental procedures and policies.
  • Collaborate on company strategic planning, new investment product launches and special projects.
  • Act as the Assistant Treasurer for the Mutual Funds Board and/or assist senior leadership with board-related matters.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Chief Operating Officer.


Qualifications


  • 15+ years of experience with investment servicing, specialty finance, commercial finance, fund accounting or investment operations.
  • 10+ years of experience as a people manager.
  • Extensive experience and understanding of the administration and operations of mutual funds, exchange traded funds and separately managed accounts.
  • Knowledge of financial reporting, generally accepted accounting principles, performance calculations and regulatory filings.
  • MBA or higher education designation preferred.
