Job Title: Director of Business Development

Job Location: Austin, TX

Salary: $130K-160k

Requirements: 10+ Years of Water & Wastewater Utility Sales experience, experience in a leadership as well.

Position Overview

The Director of Business Development will lead the strategic growth initiatives of the company, focusing on opportunities within the water, wastewater, and utilities sector. This role requires a dynamic leader who will drive sales strategies, build key relationships, and ensure the successful execution of business development objectives.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement comprehensive business development strategies to achieve growth targets in the water and wastewater sectors.
• Identify and pursue new business opportunities within municipalities and utility companies.
• Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including clients, partners, and industry associations.
• Lead the proposal process for new projects, ensuring alignment with company capabilities and client needs.
• Collaborate with the sales and marketing teams to create targeted campaigns and presentations for potential clients.
• Analyze market trends and competitor activities to inform business decisions and strategies.
• Provide leadership and mentorship to the business development team, fostering a culture of accountability and performance.
  
  

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field; MBA preferred.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in business development or sales within the water, wastewater, or utilities industries.
• Strong understanding of pipeline construction and water supply systems.
• Proven track record of successfully winning large-scale projects and contracts.
• Experience using CRM software, such as Salesforce, for managing sales processes and client relationships.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with strong organizational and time management abilities.
