Regional One Health is seeking an accomplished and forward-thinking Director, Nursing Clinical Support & Education Services, to lead strategic initiatives that strengthen nursing practice across the organization. The Director, Nursing Clinical Support & Education Services is responsible for the day to day leadership of the department, including, but not limited to, Central Staffing, Tennessee Clinical Placement System (TCPS) Program, Professional Development, and nursing education/training that impact system-wide nursing practice. The incumbent is responsible for understanding the organization's throughput and flow objectives, barriers, and opportunities. In conjunction with the Chief Nursing Officer, responsible for formulating the vision, strategy, and direction for the Central Staffing and Professional Development teams. The Director, Nursing Clinical Support & Education Services determines how to operationalize this strategy, managing, motivating, and directing the staff and leadership in the support of quality patient care, safety, financial improvements, and optimal patient/staff flow, promoting an integrated and seamless patient-centered experience.

What You Will Do

  • Oversees the day-to-day operations of the staffing office, which is responsible for managing supervision of the hospital during “off” shifts.
  • Ensures maximum performance, quality, safety, and efficiency through the use of predictive scheduling and resource distribution to ensure optimal staffing levels and skills mix for the nursing units.
  • Provides educational leadership for Regional One Healthcare to include all aspects of the nursing educational process, such as assessment of learning needs, planning effective educational offerings, maintenance of current learning resources, and evaluation of outcomes.
  • Responsible for the development and implementation of orientation, in-service education, and professional development for nursing staff.
  • Provides leadership and oversight of House Supervisors, including flow management of deceased patients through the Hospital Morgue and VRISM.
  • Responsible for directing the integration and maintenance of the nursing scheduling system, which includes data collection, analysis, reporting, and administration.
  • Ensures the ongoing and effective use of the Nursing Quality Improvement program.
  • Ensures compliance of Patient Care Services standards/elements of performance, core measures, performance review activities, and other organizational, state, federal, and local regulatory laws, standards, and protocols.
  • Works collaboratively with internal staff/external agencies/organizations for facilitation, coordination, integration, and follow up activities.
  • In collaboration with Organizational Development, provides maintenance and oversight of the TCPS, which includes scheduling and compliance monitoring of nursing affiliated schools and clinical placement.
  • Ensures research and evidence-based practices are translated into the clinical setting to achieve optimal patient outcomes and strategic goals of the organization.
  • Promotes and role models diversity and inclusivity in nursing and advances quality healthcare by defining and supporting areas of changing practice and closing practice-gaps.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree In Nursing Required and
  • Master's Degree in Nursing, Health Care Administration/Management, Business Administration, Education or a related field Required
  • Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in nursing or clinical education Required and
  • Minimum 3 years experience in a leadership capacity in a related field Required
