Position Overview
Under the direction of clinical dietitians, responsible for patient contact, patient menu management, data collection, and communication of patient needs. Participates in the departmental performance improvement program. Acts as an integral part of California Pacific Medical Center's mission of providing high quality, cost effective healthcare services in a compassionate and respectful environment. The position has one primary function:
- Emphasis on Indirect Patient Care
Maintains effective productive patient service operations by performing support functions, as needed, in the following areas:
Diet Office (phone/computer/patient care information systems)
Patient Food Service (trayline/nourishments/floor stocks)
Patient Menu Service (production sheets/menu retrieval)
Job Description
EDUCATION
- Equivalent experience will be accepted in lieu of the required degree or diploma.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Nutrition, Dietetics or Related Field preferred; required to obtain a Bachelor’s Degree within one (1) year of hire.
Preferred Experience As Typically Acquired In
- Recent experience in an acute care or long term care environment preferred.
Skills And Knowledge
- Knowledge of regular, modified texture and therapeutic diets.
- Knowledge of sanitation and safe food handling practices.
- Good verbal/written communication and time management skills.
- Must be organized, computer literate and customer-focused.

Pay Range is $26.29 to $35.24 / hour
The salary range for this role may vary above or below the posted range as determined by location. This range has not been adjusted for any specific geographic differential applicable by area where the position may be filled. Compensation takes into account several factors including but not limited to a candidate’s experience, education, skills, licensure and certifications, department equity, training and organizational needs.
