Reed Technology is working with an amazing company located in Edinburgh, seeking a DevOps Engineer to join their team on an initially 6-month contract basis (Inside IR35 working via an Umbrella Company)

This role involves managing and optimizing project cloud infrastructure, developing in Azure, and deploying in AWS to ensure scalability, security, and efficiency. 

Responsibilities: 

  • Design, implement, and maintain scalable, secure, and reliable cloud solutions. 

  • Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines. 

  • Manage stakeholder expectations, ensuring alignment with business and technical requirements. 

  • Support smooth transitions from development to operations, ensuring operational readiness. 

  • Provide ongoing monitoring, troubleshooting, and optimisation of systems, including incident resolution and root cause analysis. 

Required Skills & Qualifications: 

  • Previous experience as a DevOps engineer, designing, implementing, and maintaining scalable, secure, and reliable cloud solutions. 

  • Proficiency with Azure DevOps for coding and AWS for deployment. 

  • Ability to identify, assess, and mitigate risks associated with infrastructure changes, applying appropriate change management processes. 

  • Experience with containerization and orchestration tools such as Kubernetes (K8s), Amazon Elastic Kubernetes Service (EKS), Docker, and AWS Lambda. 

  • Previous experience working closely with developers, testers and the remaining technical team.  

  • Strong knowledge of security best practices, including implementing security changes and addressing security issues. 

  • Experience with update patching to ensure systems are up-to-date and secure. 

  • Expertise in managing Virtual Private Clouds (VPCs) and configuring firewalls to protect cloud infrastructure. 

  • Exposure to Ping Identity – formerly known as ForgeRock is highly desirable. 

Benefits: 

  • Initial 6-month contract Inside IR35, with the possibility to extend. 

  • Daily rate up to £400 / day. 

  • Hybrid working (1 to 2 days per week, on-site in Edinburgh).
