General Purpose

In order to maintain comprehensive development and tracking of grants from private and public sectors, including detailed financial reporting, the Development Manager participates or oversees all phases of grant research, funder engagement, grant solicitation, management, writing, and tracking of STRIDE grants and preparation of Federal, State and private grant funding reports.

Essential Duties/Position Responsibilities

  • Work with the Executive Leadership team, finance department and program teams to identify gaps in funding and organizational needs that enhance STRIDE’s mission.
  • Research grant funding opportunities and provide recommendations for program support.
  • Collaborate with leadership to ensure that grant applications are appropriately researched, communicated to leadership and program staff, and receive approval prior to submission.
  • Lead all grant writing for new and continuing grant submissions, ensuring complete and timely applications.
  • Partner with finance and program areas to develop grant proposal budgets and outcomes targets.
  • Complete required federal grant forms, budget documents and program updates.
  • Collaborate with leadership and program staff to monitor grant deliverables and compliance.
  • Oversee communication of secured funding to program leaders.
  • Provide monthly fundraising report on identified KPI’s to the CFO.
  • Oversee annual giving efforts including development of special events and sponsorship procurement.
  • Cultivate strategic relationships with individual donors.
  • Ensure knowledge of the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) Electronic Handbook (EHB) to assist CFO and accounting team with federal grant reporting and submissions.
  • Evaluate fundraising processes and provide recommendations for improvements.
  • Collaborate with data analysts and electronic health record administrators to ensure grant program objectives are adequately tracked and reported upon.
  • Ensure grant reports and proposals are submitted accurately and within required deadlines.
  • Prepare for and participate in grant compliance meetings and site visits with funding agencies.
  • Collaborate with in house legal counsel to ensure all grant contracts are fully executed.
  • Serve as primary point of contact for foundations, local government funders and state funders.
  • In collaboration with the CFO, establish annual fundraising goals and development plan.
  • Develop a portfolio of community engagement stories and fundraising materials for use in proposals and funder communication.
  • Engage in outreach with foundations, healthcare partners and external stakeholders to drive strong partnerships in the community.
  • Provide oversight, leadership support and professional development for the Development Coordinator.
  • Facilitate grant planning meetings to ensure leadership alignment on grant proposals, deadlines, and outcomes requirements.
  • Provide oversight of STRIDE’s individual donor cultivation efforts.
  • Ensure adherence to gift acceptance policy.
  • Ensure the confidentiality of patients, donors and employees is maintained at the highest levels.
  • Actively participate in professional development opportunities.
  • Represent STRIDE at external meetings and events.
  • Provide oversight for planning, coordination, and organization of STRIDE fundraising events.

Administrative / Other

  • May be required to participate in UDS reporting.
  • Assist in gathering fund and grant related information for STRIDE’s annual report.

Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required.

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience with fundraising including grant writing and reporting.
  • Experience with Colorado-based funders preferred.
  • Previous supervisory experience preferred.
  • Experience in public relations/ communication preferred.
  • Experience in healthcare preferred.

Tools you’ll use

Computer, printer, multi-line telephone systems, mobile phone, personal transportation vehicle, fax machine, copy machine, calculator, and all Microsoft Office products including Outlook, Excel, and the internet.

Working Environment And Physical Activities

Office environment. Data entry via computer, mouse, and keyboard. Moves about the office environment and occasionally to other locations. Moves/transports objects up to 25 lbs. occasionally. Moves/transports objects up to 25 lbs frequently and up to 75 lbs occasionally to various locations throughout the metro area. Communicate information to others. Discerns/analyzes information from others to assist in decision making processes.

Work Schedule

Monday through Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm

We offer a competitive salary/hourly range of $65,000 to $75,000 per year, depending on your experience.

This range reflects STRIDE’s good faith estimate of potential compensation at the time of posting. The final salary for the selected candidate will be determined based on several factors, including experience, education, budget, internal equity, specialty, and training.
