Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Development Database Engineer to join our team in supporting the Department of Defense (DoD) Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD). As a key member of our database team, you will design, develop, and maintain database solutions that support our applications and services. You will work closely with developers to design, develop, maintain, and optimize SQL Server databases, and provide support for database administration tasks.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, maintain, and optimize SQL Server databases
• Collaborate with teams to gather requirements and translate them into database solutions
• Create and update database documentation and support security measures
• Analyze system performance and resolve complex issues with IT and development teams
• Provide support for database administration tasks, including installation, configuration, backup/recovery, and performance tuning
  
  

Requirements

• Experience in SQL, Microsoft SQL Server, SQL programming and scripting
• Proficiency with Microsoft SQL Server, T-SQL, and SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS)
• Familiarity with SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS), SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS), and SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS)
• Knowledge of Windows Server environments
• Ability to identify and troubleshoot database-related resource contention issues
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and time-management skills
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
  
  

Nice to Have

• BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
• 5+ years of experience in database administration and development
• Experience with cloud-based database solutions
• Familiarity with agile development methodologies
