About The Role

Join our dynamic team as a Developer at Curtin University! We have three exciting permanent full-time (1.0 FTE) opportunities available for individuals eager to contribute to the software development lifecycle.

In this role, you'll engage in designing, coding, testing, and documenting innovative solutions and enhancements. Collaborating closely with a wider agile team, you'll enjoy the chance to expand your technical knowledge and skills under the guidance of experienced colleagues.

Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

Software Development & Collaboration

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and document solutions that meet business needs, participating in Backlog Refinement and Sprint Planning.
  • Contribute to technical standards and assist in maintaining performance through active development and Level 3 support for systems.

Technical Growth & Mindset

  • Commit to continuous learning, embracing new technologies and training opportunities, and actively seeking ways to optimise costs and improve efficiency.
  • Participate in recruitment activities and identify technical debt while fostering a resilient mindset towards change.

Quality Assurance & Standards

  • Engage in code reviews and adhere to development standards, contributing to the observability of systems and integrating non-functional quality standards.
  • Uphold the core values of the Development Practice, fostering a collaborative and innovative environment while supporting the team’s goals.

Who we are looking for - Selection Criteria

  • A relevant degree with relevant experience or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.
  • Strong understanding and experience with relevant programming languages and practices.
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively in team environments and build professional relationships with stakeholders.
  • Effective problem-solving abilities, with the capability to present various options and their rationales.
  • Willingness and ability to learn and adapt to new technologies and methodologies as necessary.
  • Strong experience utilising AWS services to design and implement scalable and secure cloud solutions.
  • Full stack developer experience.

Desirable Criteria

  • Experience working in an Agile development team.

Role Requirements:

  • As this is a continuing (permanent) role, you will require permanent work rights in Australia to be considered.

  • Ability to work outside of normal office hours when required.
