Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Design Engineer to join our Engineering team focused on the design and development of material handling and conveyor systems. The ideal candidate will have experience working with 2D AutoCAD, 3D modeling software, and a deep understanding of mechanical design principles for industrial automation applications. This role is critical to ensuring design accuracy, manufacturability, and compliance with client specifications and industry standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and develop conveyor systems and related mechanical components using 2D AutoCAD and 3D CAD tools (SolidWorks, Inventor, or similar).
Interpret customer specifications, layout drawings, and requirements to produce functional and manufacturable conveyor designs.
Prepare detailed drawings including layout, assembly, fabrication, and bill of materials (BOM).
Collaborate with project managers, sales engineers, and manufacturing teams to ensure design feasibility, cost-effectiveness, and timely delivery.
Modify existing conveyor designs to meet customer updates, manufacturing feedback, or process improvements.
Ensure all designs meet safety, quality, and industry compliance standards (ANSI, OSHA, etc.).
Support testing and validation of designed systems when required, including occasional site visits for installation support.
Participate in design reviews and provide engineering support during fabrication and installation.
Maintain and update design databases, drawing archives, and project documentation.
Provide technical support for procurement and production teams during the build phase.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
2–3 years of experience in mechanical design, preferably in conveyor systems or material handling equipment.
Proficient in AutoCAD 2D and 3D design software such as SolidWorks, Autodesk Inventor, or Creo.
Strong knowledge of mechanical drafting standards, GD&T, and fabrication techniques.
Familiarity with industrial conveyors, motors, gearboxes, and related components.
Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
Strong communication and collaboration skills to work across engineering and production teams.
