Summary

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop robust database architecture to support business and technical requirements.
  • Monitor and optimize database performance to ensure efficiency and responsiveness.
  • Develop and execute backup, restore, and disaster recovery strategies.
  • Manage replication, clustering, and failover processes to ensure high availability.
  • Provide technical support for database-related incidents and troubleshooting.
  • Perform data migrations between systems when necessary.
  • Maintain data security including access control and encryption.
  • Collaborate with DevOps and Engineering teams to automate database deployments and workflows.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • Minimum [X years] of experience as a Database Engineer or similar role.
  • Proficiency in at least one major database system such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, or MongoDB.
  • Strong skills in SQL and scripting for automation and task management.
  • Experience with database monitoring tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, or similar).
  • Solid understanding of backup/recovery, disaster recovery, and replication concepts.
  • Familiarity with cloud-based databases (AWS RDS, Azure SQL, GCP Cloud SQL) is a plus.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
