Title: Database Administrator

Duration: 12-Month Contract (potential extension / conversion)

Location: McLean, VA - hybrid

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

• 3-9 years experience as a Database Administrator
• Strong experience with Sybase and MSQL Server
• Scripting experience (Python or Perl preferred) -Exposure to databases in a hybrid cloud environment

NICE TO HAVE SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

• Knowledge in cloud databases like RDS, Mongo Atlas and DynamoDB
• Exposure to CI/CD best practices, data pipelines and/or data lakes

JOB DESCRIPTION

Insight Global is seeking a DBA to join one of their top financial clients in the McLean, VA area. This individual will be joining the Public division of Global Banking Markets technology, specifically the RIA Engineering group. This team is focused on a new number of new initiatives centered around their two more popular products. This efforts are combination of maintenance of the current environment, as well as optimization efforts. We’re seeking a Database Engineer who can work on management and optimization of their current data ecosystem: Sybase 16 MS SQL Server 2019/2022. This individual will be responsible for a number of functions such as patching, backup + recovery efforts, advanced tuning, system standardization and automation efforts. They will also work with various IT teams and business users to help develop various database models. This individual should be very hands on and expected to resolve complex issues without disrupting system integrity and data availability.
