Due to the office expanding we are seeking a highly skilled Data Engineer with a strong background in banking and financial services to design, build, and maintain robust, scalable data pipelines and platforms. You will work in Hanoi office with data scientists, business analysts, and technology teams to enable data-driven decision-making and support regulatory, risk, and customer analytics initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
• Design, develop, and optimize scalable data pipelines and ETL/ELT processes using modern data engineering tools and cloud platforms.
• Integrate data from various banking systems (e.g., core banking, payments, loans, CRM, AML, risk management systems) into centralized data platforms.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to understand data needs related to regulatory reporting, financial risk, compliance, and customer analytics.
• Maintain and improve data quality, governance, and lineage using metadata-driven approaches.
• Implement and enforce best practices for data modeling, architecture, and pipeline orchestration.
• Work with technologies such as Apache Airflow, Spark, dbt, Kafka, NiFi, and data lake platforms (e.g., Hadoop, Dremio, MinIO).
• Ensure data security, privacy, and compliance with financial regulations (e.g., Basel, AML/CFT, GDPR, BCBS 239).
• Participate in code reviews, architecture discussions, and mentoring junior data engineers.
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field.
• 4+ years of experience in data engineering roles with at least 2–3 years in the banking or financial services sector.
• Hands-on experience with SQL, Python, and distributed data processing tools (e.g., Spark, PySpark).
• Solid understanding of data modeling (relational, dimensional, and data vault).
• Experience with modern data orchestration and pipeline tools (e.g., Airflow, dbt, NiFi).
• Familiarity with regulatory reporting, anti-money laundering (AML), credit risk, or financial data domains.
• Experience with cloud data platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure) is a plus.
Preferred Skills
• Experience with data cataloging and governance platforms (e.g., OpenMetadata, Collibra, Alation).
• Familiarity with DevOps, CI/CD practices, and infrastructure-as-code (e.g., Terraform, Docker).
• Knowledge of real-time data streaming (Kafka, Spark Streaming) and CDC tools (e.g., Debezium).
• Experience working with data science teams on model operationalization and feature engineering pipelines.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally with business and technical teams.
