Cybersecurity Engineer (Cloud Security/IDM/Firewall/SASE)

Our client, a leader in their industry, has an excellent opportunity for a Cybersecurity to work on a six-month contract to hire role. This is a hybrid role onsite Tuesday through Thursday in Cary, NC and Monday and Friday remote.

Rate: $55 - $60/hr w-2, $116,000 to $130,000 plus bonus

Responsibilities of the Cybersecurity Engineer:

• Design, implement, and manage security infrastructure including enterprise-grade firewall solutions to enforce network security policies and protect against advanced threats.
• Inspecting and managing network traffic (source vs. destination) and enforcing security policies, particularly blocking or allowing traffic.
• Understand and implement controlled access in a security environment.
• Configure and deploy security tools and technologies specific to cloud environments, including web application firewalls and cloud-native security services.
• Architect and deploy secure access service edge solutions for comprehensive protection of distributed networks and remote users.
• Implement and optimize identity and access management systems, adhering to least privilege principles.
• Utilize Microsoft Security Suite tools for threat detection, investigation, and response across on-premises and cloud environments.

Requirements for the Cybersecurity Engineer:

5+ years of experience in security-related disciplines specializing in Cybersecurity:

Experience with as many of these technologies as possible:

• Cloud Security: Azure Cloud Security or AWS Cloud Security
• IDAM: Active Directory, Entra ID, Okta
• Firewall/Network Security: Palo Alto (Palo Alto preferred)
• SASE: Zscaler ZIA/ZPA preferred or Palo Alto Prisma Access

Ability to convey complex security issues effectively and professionally.

Education Requirement:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required.

Skills, experience, and other compensable factors will be considered when determining pay rate. The pay range provided in this posting reflects a W2 hourly rate; other employment options may be available that may result in pay outside of the provided range.
