We are searching for a Controls Engineer 1 to join our team of innovative and passionate individuals who are powered by their passion for service delivery.

Job Summary

Qualification, Education, And Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university
  • Up to two years of experience, preferably in the Material Handling Industry
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD, preferably AutoCAD Electrical
  • Aptitude in reading and understanding electrical drawings and schematics
  • Proficiency with common productivity and communication software, such as Microsoft Office and Teams
  • Knowledgeable of PLC and HMI programming software
    • Ability to navigate ladder logic and familiarity with basic instructions
    • Experience connecting to PLCs and observing or editing logic while online
    • Familiarity with one or more of the following PLC platforms: Rockwell, Beckhoff, Siemens, Schneider/ Modicon, Lenze, and CodeSys
  • Ability to travel up to 40% to support sales, project design, installations, commissioning, and service

Essential Job Functions

  • Travel to customer sites for sales support, site evaluation, design considerations, design reviews, and project support from installation through system acceptance
  • Contribute to required documentation for the project, including schematics and drawings, operations manuals, etc.
  • Create bills of material and generate purchase order requests for panel assemblies, control enclosures, and field devices
  • Contribute to PLC and HMI application development
  • Provide remote support for customer sites
  • Working closely with our manufacturing and R&D teams to ensure that the quality and functionality of our products remains at the highest level
  • Performing pre-commissioning activities such as panel check outs, I/O checks, etc.

Additional Responsibilities And Requirements

  • Handling and helping to resolve customer inquiries and concerns.
  • Owning or participating in Training, Quality Assurance, or new process development/implementation
  • Assisting with other electrical and controls projects as assigned
  • Travel within respective regional coverage area may be required, depending on client needs.
  • Review client notes and communicate urgent needs and escalations to on-site Technicians, Site Leads, and Managers in a timely manner.

Working Conditions

  • This position may require frequent travel to project sites within specified area(s).
  • Most tasks, projects, and communication with clients, team members, and Managers will be completed using a telephone, microphone, computer, and video technology.
  • Long periods of speaking, sitting, standing, typing, and may be required.

PLEASE NOTE: Although this is a full-time position (40 hours per week), extended hours and evenings may be required based on client needs.
