Summary

POSITION SUMMARY: The individual in this position is responsible for ensuring the effective operation of the accounting and financial reporting functions by performing or supervising various accounting duties. This individual will manage the accounting department. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: * Oversee all operations and functions of the Accounting Department to include accounts payable and general ledger, ensuring effective and efficient use of time and resources. * Oversee Accounting Department staff on the recording, reporting and reconciliation of the Auto Leasing program through third-party vendor. Work with Accounting & Leasing department staff as needed to coordinate the processes necessary to record and report accurately. * Monitor and approve all accounts payable invoices (Oracle AP) for accuracy of general ledger and timely payment. * Review general ledger reports ensuring balances and net changes are reasonable. Addresses discrepancies or issues with staff or other departments of the Bank. * Provide support and problem-solving assistance with research on Accounts Payable, General Ledger and other requests from departments and staff as requested. * Ensure the accuracy of the balance sheet and income statement of the St Louis bank on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis. * Prepare and distribute monthly financial reports to Management and other departments as needed. Distribute automated financial and Board reports to appropriate staff. * Compare income and expenses monthly for significant variances and prepare Financial Memos for Management. * Perform, review and analyze all reconciliations of general ledgers and DDA accounts, both those manually prepared and those in Reconciliation System. Research discrepancies as appropriate. * Ensure all monthly rent payments are paid and rent income collected timely. Work with appropriate staff to ensure CAM settlements are completed annually on our leased properties. * Review accrual accounts monthly and ensure accruals are trued up annually. * Gather financial data for Corporate Accounting to assist them in the timely preparation of periodic regulatory reports and tax reports for the Bank. * Monitor fixed asset projects and work with appropriate staff to have corporate accounting move to Fixed Asset GL account upon completion. Review monthly fixed asset depreciation report. * Review and record quarterly entries for Deferred Comp program and work with Central Trust and payroll to ensure payments are made as needed. * Ensure quarterly reporting of Club Dues and annual reporting of Auto Fringe amounts are given to payroll to process. * Manage production of annual budget. Distribute input sheets for business lines and compile information from appropriate department heads as needed. Coordinate input and budget reporting with Corporate Accounting. * Aid internal and external audits throughout the audit process and provide all requested documentation. Respond to audit findings in areas of responsibility on a timely basis. * Attend, as needed, various employee and board committee meetings presenting pertinent financial information or reports as requested. * Provide or coordinate training to staff members as need is determined, to increase department efficiency. * Assist President with various projects as assigned which may include branch expansion cost/benefit analysis, Asset and Liability pricing models, commercial lease review, and property management. * Perform related duties and responsibilities as required and assigned.
