We’re looking for a hands-on, strategic Controller who is ready to make a lasting impact while preparing to step into a future CFO role within the next 3–5 years.
What You’ll Do
You’ll lead and support the accounting function across day-to-day operations and long-term strategy. You’ll bring sharp attention to detail, a passion for process improvement, and a collaborative mindset to elevate our financial systems and support our business growth.
In this role, you will:
- Lead general ledger activities and oversee A/R, A/P, payroll accounting, sales tax filings, and fixed assets
- Manage a 3 + team of A/P, A/R, and accounting members
- Own the monthly close process, ensuring timeliness and GAAP compliance
- Conduct daily cash reconciliations and support weekly cash flow forecasting
- Oversee account reconciliations and maintain a clean balance sheet
- Ensure tax and regulatory compliance across U.S. and Canadian operations
- Serve as a primary point of contact for audits and external accountants
- Evaluate and enhance accounting systems, tools, and workflows
- Identify automation opportunities and improve data accuracy
- Collaborate across departments to support budgeting, cost containment, and operational efficiency
- Develop SOPs and train team members to ensure consistency and accuracy
Who You Are
We’re looking for someone who’s both strategic and hands-on—ready to lead and ready to dig in.
You have:
- 3+ years of experience as a Controller in a manufacturing environment (inventory-heavy experience preferred)
- Strong foundation in general ledger accounting, payroll, tax, audit, and compliance
- A track record of process improvement and interdepartmental collaboration
- A BS or MS in Accounting (CMA preferred)
- Experience leading teams and developing documentation and training materials
- The drive and potential to move into a CFO role within 3–5 years
