Responsibilities

Prairie Energy is seeking an individual who will be responsible for accurate financial reporting, overseeing daily accounting functions, and supporting the CFO in financial oversight and analysis. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, detail-oriented, and have excellent analytical skills.

Financial Analysis & Reporting

• Prepare, review, and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring accurate and timely recording of financial transactions.

Compliance & Audits

• Maintain strong internal controls and compliance practices to safeguard company assets and ensure reliable financial reporting.
• Manage internal and external audits, ensuring compliance with financial, tax, 401k, and insurance regulations.

Special Projects

• Collaborate with the CFO to support annual and quarterly tax estimates, and providing data and analysis as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. CPA (or CPA track) preferred.
• Minimum of five to seven years of progressive accounting experience
• Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
• Previous oil and gas experience is preferred
• Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Excel

This position is available full-time and is based in Englewood, Colorado. Compensation will be commensurate with candidate’s experience and availability.
