Estimating Duties: The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing new project and ongoing project estimates and projected timelines including: Review of incoming tender documents, building plans, specifications, and written scope documents. Establish and maintain tendering process and set up cost monitoring and reporting systems and procedures Periodically visit project sites to clearly understand the scope of work to be estimated Solicit vendor and trade partner proposals when required using detailed Request for Proposal process Prepare cost estimates of material, labor, equipment, and input into estimating software Prepare written project scope of work and input into estimating software Create proposed construction schedule Record and document all back up information for estimate reviews with manager Qualifications and Skills: A minimum of 5 years experience estimating within residential construction Excellent command of the English language, both verbal and written Sound knowledge of the custom home construction industry and the Ontario Building Code Familiar with dynamic scheduling principals and capable of producing detailed tender schedules with critical path analysis. Sound knowledge of Project Estimating principles and practices specific to planning, execution and cost estimating Ability to work on multiple estimates of varying size and complexity at the same time.
