The ideal candidate will be experienced in the concrete cutting industry in Calgary or Edmonton and desires to be apart of a professional team within a growing company.

Job description:

• Read blueprint drawings and prepare construction demolition and removal plans
• Preparing accurate project bids/quotes
• Conduct field visits to support and manage demolition, cutting, and removal projects
• Participate in project meetings and be able to negotiate project costs
• Providing timely and comprehensive reporting to Management on current bids and projects
• Fostering good relationships with company staff, clients, and subcontractors
• Stay informed of relevant codes, standards, and engineering practices.

Qualifications

• Civil Engineering diploma or degree. *
• 7 months to 1 year of experience within the concrete industry is preferred.*
• Experienced with AutoCAD, Bluebeam, and similar construction software programs
• Intermediate to advanced computer skills while working with Microsoft Office
• Valid provincial driver’s license
• Strong aptitude for verbal and written communications
• Represent CanWest with professionalism an integrity
• Willing to contribute to innovative thinking on company projects.

*Current Civil Engineer students showing technical aptitude will be considered for a summer position.

* If applicants have no experience in concrete, applicants must be willing to complete CanWest field training as needed prior to stepping into the role.

CanWest has an extensive inhouse training program and will are willing to train the correct candidates. The candidates will be partnered with senior team members and have access to other teams to gain the knowledge to grow their career at CanWest.
