Position Overview
The Construction Estimator is responsible for analyzing project plans, specifications, and bids to provide accurate cost estimates for construction projects. This role plays a critical part in the overall project lifecycle, ensuring that projects are financially viable and completed within budget.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and analyze project plans and specifications to prepare detailed cost estimates.
- Collaborate with project managers and general contractors to gather necessary information for accurate estimates.
- Utilize cost database and historical data to establish benchmarks for future projects.
- Prepare and submit bid proposals to clients and stakeholders in a timely manner.
- Monitor project costs and assist in cost control measures throughout the construction process.
- Attend project meetings to provide insight on budgeting and estimating processes.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a construction estimator or similar role, with a strong understanding of construction processes.
- Solid knowledge of construction methods, materials, and codes.
- Proficient in estimation software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent analytical and mathematical skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with various stakeholders.
