COMMUNICATIONS & EVENTS MANAGER

Full-Time | Non-Exempt


Entre Hermanos is seeking a dynamic, bilingual Communications & Events Manager to lead our public-facing work through compelling storytelling, digital strategy, and the production of impactful fundraising events. This full-time position supports our mission to empower and advocate for LGBTQ+ Latine and immigrant communities across Washington State.


The ideal candidate is a creative and strategic communicator who thrives in a collaborative environment, is fluent in both Spanish and English, and brings a deep understanding of digital media and culturally relevant messaging. They are passionate about community building and skilled in event planning that inspires both celebration and support.


This position reports to the Communications Director and works closely with the Executive Director, leadership team, and Board of Directors.


Entre Hermanos’ mission is to promote the health and well-being of the Latine/Latino/Latina/Latinx Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, Transgender, and questioning community in a culturally appropriate environment through disease prevention, education, support services, advocacy, and community building.


Key Responsibilities

Event Fundraising & Production (40%)

  • Collaborate with the Communications Director and Development lead on the planning, logistics, and execution of major annual fundraising events.
  • Support donor engagement, program development, and vendor coordination under theguidance of senior staff.
  • Assist in the acquisition of sponsorships and stewardship of event-related donors.
  • Work across departments to help ensure events are community-centered and culturally resonant.
  • Support the creation and distribution of event communications and promotional content across various platforms.


Strategic Communications (35%)

  • Craft and execute communication strategies that elevate Entre Hermanos’ mission, visibility, and community impact.
  • Produce bilingual content for digital platforms (social media, newsletters, website, etc.).
  • Coordinate audiovisual storytelling in collaboration with media partners.
  • Maintain consistent brand voice and visual identity across all communications.


Development Support (20%)

  • Collaborate with the Communications Director & Development Consultant on annual fundraising strategies and donor communications.
  • Support donor engagement efforts with personalized outreach and meaningful storytelling.
  • Assist with individual giving campaigns and data-informed outreach.


Institutional & Internal Communication (5%)

  • Support communication needs tied to government and foundation grants, including acknowledgment and reporting materials.
  • Share internal updates and success stories that highlight programmatic impact.


Qualifications

Required:

  • Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish (spoken and written).
  • 5+ years of experience in communications / event production / public relations / journalismor fundraising.
  • Demonstrated ability to create compelling digital and written content.
  • Proven track record of organizing events from concept to execution.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to engage with a diverse range of stakeholders.
  • Experience with social media management, email platforms, CRM systems, and digital design tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Suite).
  • Deep understanding and commitment to LGBTQ+ Latine and immigrant communities.
  • Ability to work some evenings/weekends and adapt to changing priorities.


Preferred:

  • Degree in Communications, Event Management, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Lived immigrant experience.
  • Experience with radio, video, or podcast production.
  • Familiarity with the Washington nonprofit landscape.


Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary: $70,000–$73,000 annually (depending on experience and additional skills)• Benefits:

As part of the final selection process, shortlisted candidates will be asked to complete a brief content creation exercise. This will involve designing and writing sample communications materials for a potential Entre Hermanos event or campaign. The goal is to better understand each candidate’s creative approach, writing skills, and familiarity with our mission and voice.


EMPLOYMENT ELIGIBILITY:

Applicants for this role will only be considered if they are able to legally work in the United States, where this position is located without visa sponsorship.


Entre Hermanos requires all employees be vaccinated with a COVID-19 vaccine. Employees are considered vaccinated two weeks after completing primary vaccination with a COVID-19 vaccine, with, if applicable, at least the minimum recommended interval between doses. All new employees must inform Entre Hermanos of their vaccination status within three days of hire date and must be fully vaccinated no later than 45 days after hire date.
