Commercial Service Project Manager/Estimator
As a J&A Glass Service PM/Estimator, you are a vital part of our team. You will be the Commercial Service point person that starts the customer experience and ensures that their contact with us will win us a lifelong business relationship with you and other divisions across J&A. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment, responding to client requests and ensuring exceptional service to our awesome clients.
Key Responsibilities
Service Estimating and Proposal Creation
- Prepare timely, accurate estimates for repair and replacement services, such as broken glass, door hardware, and storefronts.
- Assess project scope through information gained from scheduled site visits or client inquiries, providing precise pricing for service work.
- Create and deliver clear service proposals to ensure client understanding and transparency.
Project Coordination and Management
- Schedule and coordinate service crews to respond to client needs efficiently.
- Oversee project timelines, ensuring on-time delivery while maintaining safety and quality standards.
- Manage material orders and coordinate with suppliers to guarantee timely deliveries.
Client Relationship Management
- Serve as the main contact for property management clients, fostering long-term, positive relationships.
- Communicate proactively with clients to provide updates, address concerns, and ensure satisfaction.
- Encourage repeat business by understanding and exceeding client expectations.
Team Leadership and Field Support
- Collaborate with field supervisors and installation crews to ensure seamless project execution.
- Lead service teams by enforcing safety protocols and quality standards.
- Continually learn the trade to help forecast work progress and support the resolution of on-site challenges.
Administrative and Financial Oversight
- Track and manage project expenses to maintain profitability and budget alignment.
- Handle change orders promptly to adapt to client needs.
- Approve timesheets, invoices, and vendor payments related to service projects.
Sales and Marketing
- Respond to incoming calls professionally, addressing service inquiries and converting them into scheduled jobs.
- Manage website service requests, social media posts, and sales functions to promote services and generate new business.
Customer Service and Payment Collection
- Complete work orders, return customer calls, and resolve customer complaints.
- Collect payments and follow up on outstanding balances.
- Assist with efficient scheduling and routing of service professionals.
Warranty and Follow-Up Services
- Coordinate follow-up services or warranty work to ensure client satisfaction.
- Conduct post-service client reviews to gather feedback and improve future performance.
Additional Duties
- Perform administrative tasks as needed, including cross-training in related roles to support team efficiency.
Qualifications
- Have or be willing to gain knowledge of glass, storefront, door hardware, and glazing service operations.
- Ability to quickly assess service needs and provide accurate estimates.
- Strong relationship-building skills, particularly with property management clients.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and other job management software (training provided).
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to multitask and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Previous experience in customer service or project management preferred.
