Company Overview: Biomerics is a world-class contract manufacturer that primarily services the medical industry. Our machining center of excellence is located at our Santa Clara facility. NPI/prototype machining is performed in Santa Clara, then transferred to our other manufacturing facilities. We are looking for qualified programmers to join our team. We have a very clean and organized shop, with state of the art equipment. Training will be provided as needed.

A CNC (computer numerically controlled) Programmer will work with drawings/files in order to program machinery which cuts raw materials into functional items per blueprints.

Equipment located at our Santa Clara facility:

  • 17 WILLEMIN MOCODEL 408-MT’s
  • 3 CITIZEN SWISS
  • 2 VERTICAL MILLS
  • 1 SODICK WIRE EDM

Inspection: 3 Zeiss O-Inspects

Cam Software: Esprit- SmartCam

Principal Duties & Responsibilities

  • Create CNC programs for our Willemin machines via STEP files and PDF drawings
  • Work with customer engineers on DFM
  • Create in-process inspection procedures derived from the CNC program
  • Create all necessary set up sheet documentation
  • Read technical drawings and set up the machines in accordance with these blueprints
  • Use computer software to model cutting paths and program machines accordingly
  • Perform quality assurance tests to ensure products meet design specifications
  • Adjust machine cutting paths or settings to optimize production while maintaining quality
  • Consider tools required to cut particular materials and program machines accordingly
  • Troubleshoot and resolve problems with machines as they arise
  • Other duties may be assigned

Requirements

  • Must be able to program using Esprit Software
  • Previous experience working in a manufacturing setting is required
  • Must have strong attention to detail
  • Familiarity and skill with interpreting technical drawings and blueprints
  • Skilled at troubleshooting and resolving mechanical or logistical problems that arise
  • Ability to work independently and closely follow directions is essential
  • Should have a positive and professional attitude
  • Available to work weekends and overtime
  • Strong written and oral communication skills to support business needs in an English-speaking environment

Education & Experience

  • High School graduate or General Education Degree (G.E.D.); and/or 1-3 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Working Conditions

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly in all areas of the building (manufacturing, inspection, shipping/receiving, and office). The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. The employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and fumes or airborne particles.
