We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly skilled CNC Laser Programmer with CAD skills to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for programming and operating CNC laser cutting machines, interpreting engineering drawings, creating detailed CAD models, and ensuring high-quality production standards. The CNC Laser Programmer will work closely with the engineering and production teams to ensure seamless operations and efficient manufacturing processes.

Key Responsibilities:

• CNC Laser Programming:
• Develop and modify CNC laser cutting programs based on CAD drawings and engineering specifications.
• Input parameters and settings into the CNC system, ensuring accuracy and proper machine functionality.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to CNC programming and machine operation.
• Ensure that programs are optimized for efficiency, material usage, and machine capabilities.
• CAD Design and Drafting:
• Create and modify CAD drawings, models, and blueprints for laser cutting projects using CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks).
• Convert customer specifications into detailed CAD files for the laser cutter.
• Machine Setup & Operation:
• Set up CNC laser machines for production, including loading materials, adjusting machine settings, and ensuring tool calibration.
• Operate CNC laser machines to cut or mark materials according to technical specifications and quality standards.
• Monitor the laser cutting process to ensure precision and adherence to production timelines.
• Quality Control & Process Improvement:
• Perform routine inspections of cut parts to verify adherence to design specifications, tolerances, and quality standards.
• Implement corrective actions when issues arise and provide recommendations for process improvements to increase productivity and reduce waste.
• Collaborate with quality control teams to maintain high production quality.
• Collaboration & Communication:
• Work closely with engineers, designers, and production staff to review project requirements, resolve any technical challenges, and ensure project timelines are met.
• Provide technical support to the production team when needed.

• Safety and Maintenance:
• Adhere to all safety protocols and operational guidelines while working with CNC machines and tools.
• Assist in machine maintenance and troubleshooting, ensuring machines are properly maintained and operational.

Qualifications:

• Education:
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Technical certification or degree in CNC programming, manufacturing, engineering, or a related field is a plus.
• Experience:
• Proven experience as a CNC Laser Programmer or CNC Machine Operator, with hands-on experience in laser cutting technology.
• Solid understanding of CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, etc. BOOST, TruTops a plus) and CNC programming languages (e.g., G-code).
• Experience with 3D modeling and design for manufacturing is highly desirable.
• Previous experience in a manufacturing or production environment is preferred.
• Skills & Abilities:
• Strong knowledge of CNC laser cutting machines, CAD software, and the ability to interpret technical drawings and blueprints.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work in a collaborative environment.
• Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and meet production deadlines.
• Understanding of material properties, cutting speeds, and tolerances.
• Certifications:
• Certification in CNC programming or laser machine operation is a plus.
• Safety training (OSHA or similar) is preferred.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand for extended periods and perform manual tasks.
• Lift up to 50 lbs. as required by job duties.
• Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, dust, and varying temperatures.
