USA TODAY Network is seeking a
Client Solutions Manager role to serve as the marketing point person in the development of integrated, insight-based and idea-led advertising solutions to support our National and Enterprise sales business. These solutions will strategically support client advertiser objectives by leveraging the equity, strengths and offerings of the USA TODAY NETWORK across our 200+ local owned & operated properties. The Client Solutions Manager is a strategic and enthusiastic solution-driver, who puts consumers at the core of everything we do. This position is part of our overall Sales Enablement organization and will report into the Director of National Client Strategy.
We are looking for someone with strong digital media experience, relevant history in working with major brands and a deep knowledge of emerging digital technology, innovative ad platforms and competitive publishing sites. What’s more, you should have the ability to effectively multi-task, build and maintain strong relationships with a variety of internal and external counterparts.
Specific Responsibilities In This Role Include
- SALES PARTNERSHIP – MARKETING SOLUTIONS DEVELOPMENT: Develop client specific advertising solutions for USA TODAY NETWORK’s national and enterprise sales divisions. Access our full funnel suite of products leveraging the strength and equity of our owned and operated properties across platform and off platform audience extensions via social, targeted email, promotions, events, and more! Collaborate with internal and external partner teams (sales, customer insights, product, editorial, video, branded content, etc.) on the ideation and creation of specific advertising solutions that deliver on a client’s key objectives. Respond to RFPs and also develop proactive client proposals with innovative insight-based ‘idea led’ strategy presentations that have strong written communication, visual/graphics, and supporting research. Partner with sales to evaluate the market and strategize how to proactively approach new business prospects to generate more interest in our company.
- PRE-SALE IDEATION PROCESS: Once a sales opportunity has been properly evaluated and vetted, the Client Solutions Manager is responsible for partnering with the sales rep to fully understand needs and deliverables for the client. They will lead the process of working with all internal departments to fully develop a strategy and deliver a marketing proposal that delivers on the client’s key KPIs.
- LEADERSHIP & PROACTIVENESS: Participate as a key stakeholder in external, client-facing meetings when presenting RFPs or client-specific proposals as needed. Ability to verbally communicate capabilities and marketing solutions that help drive the ideation and strategy of the pitch. Participate across internal vertical affinity groups that proactively build industry insights and sales opportunities across key business verticals. Work on leadership projects that have been identified as new sales opportunities to bring to market. Involvement may include but not be limited to: ideation, pricing and packaging, collateral development and launch of sales tentpoles across the sales teams.
- ADDITIONAL MARKETING DEVELOPMENT: Partner with Sales to align sales tentpoles with their key prospect lists to whom new opportunities and ongoing research can be presented. Work with post sales team and B2B marketing to develop external case studies on successful campaigns that showcase positive outcomes to help drive more business.
Here’s What You Need
- Bachelor's degree required AND at least 5 years of related experience and/or training preferred. (Marketing, communications, psychology, journalism, or English majors preferred but not required).
- Excellent project management and organization skills, including proven experience in developing and executing innovative, creative and impactful integrated marketing solutions either in an advertising agency, client, or publisher capacity. Knowledge of Sales force is a plus.
- Creative thinker with good writing ability
- Ability to set deadlines and work efficiently with internal and external clients
- Must be a proactive self-starter and team player with the ability to navigate their way through a complex organization.
- Solid knowledge of/experience with digital media landscape. Print experience helpful but not necessary.
- Must possess a keen understanding and passion for the media business and the ability to inspire and nurture the same in others.
- Must be team-oriented, collaborative and can drive an agenda forward while also balancing needs of multiple conflicting stakeholders.
- Must be passionate about the media business with the ability to inspire and nurture the same in others.

- Proficiency in MS Office, including PowerPoint and Excel, either Mac or PC Platform a must. Proficiency in Sales Force preferred.
LOCALiQ
The annual compensation for this role will range between $70,000 and $83,000. Base compensation is reflective of many factors, including, but not limited to, the market in which one lives/works, individual education level, skills, certifications and experience.
