We are seeking a strategic and people-focused Claims Learning and Development (L&D) Manager to lead the design, delivery, and continuous improvement of learning initiatives across our Independent Agent Channel’s Claims organization. In this role you will be responsible for the leadership and development of the Learning & Development Team including driving performance and supporting a culture of continuous growth. The ideal candidate will have a passion for employee development and experience managing learning strategies with a strong foundation in facilitation, curriculum & content development, as well as instructional design oversight.
Key Responsibilities
Manage and mentor a team of trainers, instructional designer and/or external partners, fostering a culture of innovation, accountability, and collaboration within the Claims, Human Resources and Claim’s L&D team.
Develop and organize the claims training curriculum which maximizes learner engagement, addresses skill gaps, and aligns with organizational goals, ensuring scalability, competency-based design, and adherence to industry best practices.
Guide the development of training content and programs for Claims, ensuring consistency, quality, and alignment with adult learning principles and operational needs.
Oversee the facilitation strategy, ensuring training delivery methods (in-person, virtual, asynchronous) are effective and scalable across all Claims roles and levels.
Evaluate and optimize the impact of Claims learning initiatives through data-driven insights, feedback loops, and performance metrics.
Champion the use of technology and tools (e.g., LMS, authoring software) to enhance learning accessibility and effectiveness within the Claims environment.
Create pre and post learning assessments to measure overall knowledge gain and areas of improvement
Drive continuous improvement for programs under ownership
Qualifications
5+ years of progressive experience in Learning and Development, including leadership of learning programs and teams—preferably in Claims or insurance.
Experience with learning content design, measurement, and facilitation.
Familiarity with learning technology platforms (e.g., LMS) and content development tools.
Exceptional communication, stakeholder management, and organizational skills.
Strategic thinker with a proactive approach to problem-solving and performance improvement.
Excellent project management and stakeholder management skills, including gathering and analyzing feedback to inform changes.
Self-starter, able to work on a team or autonomously.
An ability to appropriately handle confidential and sensitive information.
