Overview:
We are seeking a licensed Associate-in-Claims (AIC) with strong experience in property and casualty insurance to oversee the day-to-day operations of our pet insurance agency. This is a critical leadership role in which you will ensure compliance with Florida insurance regulations, manage staff, and handle key operational responsibilities. As AIC, you will play an integral role in launching and managing a specialized pet insurance product, working alongside our leadership team.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership and Supervision: Oversee the agency’s insurance operations and compliance, acting as the primary licensed agent responsible for supervision.
Compliance: Ensure that all regulatory requirements by the Florida Department of Financial Services (DFS) are met and maintained. This includes reporting and managing the agency's operations within state guidelines.
Policy Oversight: Manage policy sales, renewals, and underwriting processes in accordance with state regulations.
Team Management: Supervise staff engaged in sales and customer service, ensuring that all insurance-related activities are handled properly.
Reinsurance Coordination: Collaborate with leadership to handle risk management through partnerships with reinsurers.
Premium Collection: Ensure proper collection and handling of premiums while adhering to best practices for secure and compliant financial transactions.
Reporting: Maintain accurate records and file reports as required by state insurance regulations, particularly for premium handling and claims management.
Qualifications:
Must hold a Florida 2-20 General Lines (Property and Casualty) License.
Minimum 5 years of experience in property and casualty insurance, ideally with supervisory or management experience.
Deep understanding of Florida insurance regulations and DFS compliance.
Proven experience in team leadership and agency management.
Familiarity with reinsurance processes and risk management preferred.
Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Ability to work independently while ensuring the agency’s compliance with all state requirements.
