Summary

We're a leading recruitment company in Sri Lanka, looking for a Channel Development Manager - General and Modern Trade for a leading FMCG/MNC company based in Colombo.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Channel Strategy & Execution:
  • Develop and implement strategic plans to grow volume, visibility, and distribution across General and Modern Trade channels.
  • Promotions & Trade Marketing:
  • Design and execute promotional plans and trade marketing activities aligned with business objectives and seasonal trends.
  • Channel Partner Management:
  • Build strong relationships with key distributors, retailers, and modern trade chains to ensure alignment on growth targets.
  • Data-Driven Decisions:
  • Monitor channel performance using KPIs and market insights; adjust strategies accordingly to optimize growth.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration:
  • Work closely with Sales, Marketing, Supply Chain, and Finance teams to ensure seamless execution and inventory management.
  • Team Leadership:
  • Guide and develop regional trade teams, ensuring skill enhancement and target achievement.


Qualifications & Experience:


  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field (MBA preferred)
  • 5–8 years of proven experience in FMCG sales, with a focus on General and/or Modern Trade
  • Strong understanding of trade dynamics, retail trends, and shopper behavior
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and analytical skills
  • Proficient in MS Office; experience with CRM and ERP tools is a plus
