Freelance Operational Change Manager – Global Client (Belgium)


Contract: Freelance

Location: Brussels (50% on-site)

Duration: 1 year with the possibility of extension

Start Date: June 2025



Join a dynamic "Change Management" squad responsible for ensuring the smooth and secure execution of IT changes within a large financial services environment. The team plays a crucial role in assessing and validating changes initiated internally and by external entities that impact the client's infrastructure.

The primary goal of the IT Change Process is to minimize risk and service disruption while ensuring high-quality, timely implementation of all IT changes.


Role Description



As an Operational Change Manager, you will oversee, assess, and approve IT changes affecting the organization, ensuring alignment with risk management and strategic priorities.



Key Responsibilities



  • Analyse and assess all incoming changes (internal and external) that impact the client's environment.
  • Organize and lead relevant governance committees and meetings to review and approve changes.
  • Present daily change reviews to the Manager on Duty and the Control Tower.
  • Attend all formal boards related to IT change approvals and risk evaluation.
  • Act as a mentor and advisor to the broader IT organization regarding the service management tools and change processes.



Language Requirements



  • Dutch: Good spoken proficiency preferred
  • French: Good spoken and written proficiency (mandatory)
  • English: Good spoken and written proficiency (mandatory)



Profile & Experience


  • Education: Bachelor's or Master’s degree, or equivalent through professional experience
  • Minimum 6 years of relevant experience, preferably in IT infrastructure environments
  • Experience working across various technology platforms and understanding complex IT architectures
  • Prior banking or financial sector experience is a strong plus
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills
  • Proactive, dynamic, and autonomous, yet highly collaborative
  • Customer-focused and result-oriented, with a passion for maintaining service continuity and minimizing business disruption
