Power BI Developer

Key Responsibilities:

• Create and maintain interactive dashboards and reports in Power BI that effectively visualize business data.
• Connect and transform data from various sources (e.g., SQL, Excel, cloud databases, APIs) to build cohesive datasets.
• Design and implement data models, including relationships, hierarchies, and calculated measures using DAX (Data Analysis Expressions).
• Optimize performance of Power BI reports by tuning queries, minimizing data refresh times, and optimizing data models.
• Work closely with business stakeholders to gather requirements, understand business processes, and provide data-driven insights.
• Implement row-level security (RLS) and manage user access to ensure secure distribution of reports.
• Schedule and manage data refreshes for Power BI reports and datasets.
• Stay up-to-date with Power BI features and enhancements to implement best practices in visualization and storytelling.
• Create and maintain documentation for Power BI solutions, including design specifications, data sources, and user guides.
• Provide training and support to end users to maximize the effectiveness of Power BI solutions.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• 8+ years of experience working as a Power BI Developer or in a similar role.
• Strong proficiency with the Power BI platform (Power BI Desktop, Power BI Service).
• Hands-on experience with DAX and Power Query (M Language).
• Experience connecting and integrating data from multiple sources (SQL, cloud data platforms, etc.).
• Strong data modeling and ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) skills.
• Familiarity with database and data warehouse concepts.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a business-centric approach.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with Azure Data Services (e.g., Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse Analytics).
• Exposure to other BI and visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, QlikView).
• Knowledge of Python or R for data analysis.
• Experience with advanced analytics or machine learning integration.
