Applications are accepted for the SMTD and Access Sangamon operations Monday through Saturday at 928 S. Ninth Street. On weekdays, applications may be obtained from the administrative office (main door) from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. On Saturdays, applications may be obtained from the dispatch window from 8:00 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. Positions being filled will be posted on this website and may also be advertised in the newspaper. SMTD is an equal opportunity employer. Applicants for Access Sangamon should have a high school diploma or GED and should be at least 21 years of age. A CDL is not required to drive Access Sangamon buses. Applicants must have a clean driving record and be able to pass a DOT physical, drug and alcohol screen, and criminal background check. Access Sangamon drivers must be able to operate all types of Access vehicles and must be able to assist passengers to board and disembark from the vehicle and secure the wheelchair on each vehicle. Drivers must have a pleasant disposition and be able to deal with passengers in a courteous manner.
