Summary

Our client is a highly regarded mid-tier builder with a strong pipeline of works in both the domestic and commercial areas of the building construction industry.

We are currently seeking an experienced Building Estimator/ Supervisor to join our team where the main focus will be supervising and estimating works, engaging, co-ordinating and managing trades during the construction process across covering the greater southeastern Queensland region based in our Brisbane office. Travel will be required between Sunshine Coast & Lismore on a regular basis.

The Role

The focus is on the supervising, estimating and programming of works with responsibility for the contractors on various sites. We need a strong report writer with the skills to put together a repair scope.

As part of a tight-knit team you will strive to deliver targets on time and within budget.

Communication is the key dynamic to our business and you will be supported by strong work processes and systems.

You Will Be Directly Responsible For

  • Assessing and supervising/estimating works / projects
  • Programming and co-ordination of sub contractors and suppliers
  • Report writing
  • Repair scopes
  • Managing projects with multiple trades
  • Completing reports on behalf of insurance companies
  • Developing and building strong rapport with trades, support staff and all stake holders
  • Managing WHS compliance on building sites

This role is based in our Oakleigh South office

The Requirement

To Be Successful In This Role You Will Require

  • A trade qualification in carpentry or building or other equivalent qualification
  • Experience in mid-tier residential and commercial construction projects ($20K-$500K)
  • Demonstrated experience in estimating works and project management with the ability to motivate and manage sub-contract labour and suppliers
  • Ability to write reports and put together a repair scope
  • High level of organisational and time management skills
  • Can do attitude
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to problem solve and think on your feet
  • Experience in WH&S
  • Good customer service skills
  • Superior computer literacy
